2023 Christmas Newsletter
Hello family and friends. There are so many great things about living in California including the warm weather and sunshine; the ocean, redwood forest, and snow-capped mountains; and the easy access to national treasures like Yosemite and Lake Tahoe.
However, during the holidays we often find ourselves thinking of the people we love -- many of you back East -- and whishing we could share the holidays with you. So, as you put up your holiday lights, decorate the Christmas tree, and settle down in front of the fire with your favorite beverage, be sure to pour out a little eggnog for your West Coast homies!
We love and miss you all, and can't wait to hopefully see each other again soon!
Things we are grateful for in 2023
- Amy and John each graciously celebrated their 50th birthdays this year in quiet, low-key affairs with no press or paparazzi.
- John Paul turned 16 this summer and is excited about learning to drive his father's mustang. John the Elder is less excited about the idea and has started petitioning politicians at the state and local level to raise the legal driving age to 21. LOL.
- John's mother had a scare with skin cancer this year, but successfully made it through her treatment and is doing well.
- Amy, John, and John Paul drove out to Las Vegas for a week during Thanksgiving and got to spend time with John's family in Vegas including his mother and his brother Marcus. It was great to finally be able to get together with Marcus and his family including their newest additions!
- John Paul has really gotten into mountain biking and is constantly scaring his parents by jumping off various ramps, logs, and cliffs. He keeps asking if can put his bike ramp on top of the house roof. Needless to say, we will not be leaving him home alone any time soon!
- Amy is still involved in her dog walking business and loves to get outdoors whenever she can.
